About Wealden

Wealden came into existence in the mid 70s as a ‘district covering the High Weald from Forest Row and Groombridge in the North, down to Pevensey in the South.

See the Wealden website for more information:  http://www.wealden.gov.uk/Council/About_Wealden/index.aspx

As it says there… with two-thirds the district covered by the High Weald and Sussex Downs Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as 34 conservation areas and over 2,500 listed buildings, Wealden has to place a high value on protecting the countryside.
